The Kogi state President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government employees ‘NULGE’ Comrade Tade Adeyemi said he has been directed by the national Secretariat of the Union to mobilize member’s support and vote for any candidate that has the interest of staff welfare especially granting local government autonomy in the next year’s elections

Comrade Tade Adeyemi made the disclosure while addressing staff of Lokoja local government council during the official inauguration of new executives to run the affairs of Lokoja local government NULGE for the next four years.

He explained that the called had become imperative due to the fact all the problems surrounded the welfare and percentage salary payment to council staff will be tackle head on if local government autonomy is in operations.

Comrade Tade Adeyemi counted Kogi state as one of the ten states in the federation that have passed into Law the local government autonomous bill and tap the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the state house of assembly for adhering to the cry of council staff.

The state leader of NULGE assured the twenty one local government council employees of the Union readiness to continue to deploy dialogue with the state government for the upward review of the payment of their salary until their are paid one hundred percentage as stipulated by law.

Comrade Tade Adeyemi acknowledged the regular promotion being enjoyed by staff and commended the state local government service Commission for rewarding hardwork and dedication to duties by staff and called for financial back up

He commended the newly inaugurated officers under the leadership of comrade Bala Umar Ibrahim and his others team for working meticulously and assiduously in providing welfare packages for their members asserting that it was the justification of that they were all returned through affirmative votes.

In his acceptance speech, Comrade Bala Umar expressed gratitude to delegates and the entire council’s staff for finding him worthy to be re-elected to serve in the next four years.

He explained that the task of leader is enormous and come with responsibility and promised to work in tandem with the state executive of the Union to meet their aspirations as regards their improve salary payment and other emoliments.

Other officers are; comrade Ilugbami Lawrence vice Chairman,comrade Muhammad Idris secretary, comrade Ramatu Abdulkarim chairperson women committee, comrade Nuhu Umar Asst sec, Comrade Nasir Galadima Treasurer, comrade Alfa Abdulkadir is to served as Trustee and no comrade Husseni Bawa Allah as Auditor.
