In a meeting held at the Lokoja LGA NYCN Secretariat on Tuesday, Kogi State Youth Mobilization and Sensitization Network (KYMSN); a political movement of youths have thrown their weight behind the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
In his address, Honourable Usman Samari, a pioneer founder of KYMSN who also chaired the occassion lauded the many developmental milestones recorded by Alhaji Yahaya Bello and tasked the Governor’s cabinet to continue to support his policies as they have proven to stand the test of time.
Samari, speaking to youths present at the event, stressed the importance of voter education as he revealed that the decision to build a better Nigeria lies in their hands.
Admonishing politicians to always encourage and support the youths to succeed, he said ; “We are supposed to encourage the youths as elders. Let us desist from using them to cause havoc in the society.”
Comrades Abdulbaqi Musa and Ibrahim Dende, the State President and Project Director of KYMSN respectively, in separate remarks appreciated the youth friendly adminstration and all inclusive policy of Governor Bello.
Stating that Governor Bello has catapulted the confidence of Kogi youths, they asserted that KYMSN will continue to mobilize support for the Governor even as the 2023 elections approach.
The Plateau State chapter coordinator of Youth Mobilization and Sensitization Network, Comrade Blessing Amos who was present at the event, charged Kogi youths to take the presidential ambition of the Executive Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello very seriously.
She further pointed out that it would be a blessing for the whole country, as she revealed that youths have the power to control the polity of the State and Country at large.
Also present at the event, Hon Usman Umar, the GYB to PYB Movement Coordinator of Kogi state encouraged KYMSN to continue to give their selfless service to the State as it wouldn’t go unnoticed.
Umar explained that youth struggle activism is a sacrifice and only commitment will bring about the anticipated breakthrough.
Further soliciting prayers for GYB, he stated that leadership is ordained by the Almighty.
Decrying the lackadaisical attitude of youths towards serious political engagements, Abdullahi Madaki Lokoja LGA NYCN Coordinator enjoined KYMSN to continue in the movement.
Madaki further sensitized youths on the many inherent dangers of drug abuse and thuggery, charging them to show responsibility at all times and prepare for the reigns of leadership.
In his closing remark, Comrade Ibrahim Dende appreciated all present at the event and tasked members to believe in themselves as the movement is a good prospect.
Kogi State Youth Mobilization and Sensitization Network founded in August of 2017, is a registered organization aimed at breeding young political minds and empowering the less privileged.
KYMSN has previously engaged youths in skill acquisition programmes and community development seminars.
